Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Team Lead with strong expertise in Claris/FileMaker, excellent technical leadership, and solid understanding of Agile delivery. The ideal candidate will guide a development team, ensure high-quality solution delivery, drive automation through CI/CD, and leverage AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making. This role blends people leadership with deep technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Lead a team of developers working on Clavis/FileMaker-based applications.
Provide architectural guidance, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
Drive continuous improvement in coding standards, performance, and maintainability.
Support technical troubleshooting and mentor team members.
Agile Process & Team Management
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and reviews.
Help the team break down work into meaningful stories and maintain a healthy sprint flow.
Work closely with Product Owners to refine requirements and estimate workloads.
Clavis / FileMaker Expertise
Design, develop, and optimize Claris/FileMaker solutions.
Troubleshoot FileMaker scripts, data models, layouts, integrations, and performance issues.
Guide the team in modernizing legacy FileMaker components.
AI Awareness & Productivity Enhancement
Use AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Jira Assist) to accelerate documentation, story writing, and impact analysis.
Encourage the team to use AI responsibly for code suggestions, test generation, and debugging.
Identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven automations or features into the product.
CI/CD, Deployment & DevOps Collaboration
Ensure smooth deployment pipelines with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / Jenkins).
Work with DevOps teams to enhance build reliability, automate testing, and reduce deployment issues.
Enforce version control best practices, branching strategy, and release readiness checks.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Claris/FileMaker design, scripting, workflows, and integrations.
Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and optimization.
Experience with CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and automated deployments.
Good understanding of API integrations, web services, and connector tools.
Leadership & Agile Skills
Experience leading teams (3-8 members) with clear accountability.
Strong communication, mentoring, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
AI Skills
Familiarity with AI productivity tools (M365 Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot).
Understanding how AI can support coding, testing, documentation, and estimations.
Awareness of responsible AI usage (privacy, guardrails, accuracy checks).
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related software engineering experience
