To deliver engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education programs that promote lifelong fitness, sportsmanship, and physical well-being among students. The PE Teacher plays a key role in shaping the physical culture of the school and leading sports-related co-curricular activities.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Instruction
Plan and deliver PE lessons for students across assigned year groups in alignment with the school curriculum (e.g., IGCSE, KSSM, or equivalent).
Incorporate various physical activities including fitness, athletics, team sports, individual sports, and movement skills.
Promote holistic student development through physical, social, and emotional learning objectives.
Adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse physical abilities of students.
Maintain student attendance, grading, and progress reports in a timely manner.
2. Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Develop and administer skill-based and fitness-based assessments.
Track student performance and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Contribute to student reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
3. Classroom and Safety Management
Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment during all physical activities.
Conduct regular inspections of PE equipment and facilities to maintain safety standards.
Provide first aid support as necessary and respond effectively to emergencies.
4. Co-Curricular and Sports Program Development
Lead and coach school teams in inter-school and in-house competitions.
Support and coordinate Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) and Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), particularly in sports, fitness, and martial arts.
Assist in organizing events such as Sports Day, fitness workshops, and wellness campaigns.
Encourage student participation in physical activity beyond class hours.
5. Collaboration & Professional Development
Work collaboratively with other teachers and departments to promote cross-curricular integration.
Participate in school-wide events, staff meetings, and professional development training.
Contribute to the strategic development of physical education programs and sports excellence initiatives.
Skills Description
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Diploma in Education, or equivalent).
Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching PE in a school setting.
First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Experience in coaching or organizing school-level sports teams or events is an advantage.
