Educational Qualification (as per CBSE norms):

Master's Degree in Library Science (MLIS/BLIS) from a recognized university. B.Ed. preferred (as per CBSE guidelines). Knowledge of digital library systems and library management software is an advantage.

Job Profile / Roles & Responsibilities (CBSE-aligned):

Manage, organize, and maintain the school library, including print and digital resources. Assist students and teachers in locating resources and reference materials. Maintain records of library books, journals, and other learning materials. Encourage reading habits and conduct reading programs, storytelling sessions, and book fairs. Support teaching staff by providing relevant academic resources. Implement library policies, including borrowing/returning procedures. Keep up-to-date with new library resources, digital tools, and CBSE recommended reading lists. Supervise library assistants and volunteers, if any. Ensure a safe, organized, and conducive reading environment.

Skills Required:

Strong organizational and communication skills. Familiarity with digital library management systems. Ability to guide students and staff in research and information retrieval. Enthusiasm for promoting reading culture among students.
