Travel API Development Group works on the renewal project of Rakuten Travel to be competitive in global market. We are looking for developers who has willingness to keep growing with the business. You are expected to develop and operate APIs for inbound travellers to Japan which reaches 40 million in 2020. To do that, you are expected collaborate with your team members, product managers, front-end engineers, related teams in Rakuten Group (e.g., payment, rewards, membership) to lead the renewal from the current website toward success. Position Details We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Java 8, 11, Spring Boot, microservices, Oracle DB, MongoDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and possess strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, as well as a proven track record of performance improvement. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality software solutions Design, develop, and test Java applications using Java 8, 11, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture Develop and maintain APIs using Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging services Utilize Oracle DB and MongoDB to implement data storage solutions Debug and troubleshoot code to ensure optimal performance and functionality Optimize performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks, and implementing best practices Mentor and guide junior team members to ensure code quality and consistency Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years of experience in Java development Strong knowledge of Java 8, 11, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and messaging services such as Kafka and RabbitMQ Proficiency in Oracle DB and MongoDB Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Experience with performance optimization techniques Excellent communication and collaboration skills
