The TD Design Collateral Modeling Engineer is responsible for developing, calibrating, and validating design models critical to advanced semiconductor technology nodes. This includes CMOS SPICE models, NAND device models, array models, and interconnect RC models. The role requires strong device physics knowledge, modeling expertise, and collaboration with cross-functional technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and refine device and interconnect RC models for CMOS and NAND technologies.
Design and maintain modeling structures on test chips and product scribes.
Perform electrical validation on silicon and calibrate models across process corners and variations.
Analyze parametric and performance data to ensure model accuracy and alignment with fab targets.
Collaborate closely with Device, Process Integration (PI), Design, and Process Engineering teams to debug device/model issues and support technology qualification.
Ensure models meet performance and reliability targets and support product design enablement.
Required Qualifications
BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, Microelectronics, or related field.
5+ years
experience in semiconductor technology development or modeling.
Strong understanding of
semiconductor device physics
, CMOS operation, and scaling principles.
Hands-on experience with
device modeling languages/tools
such as Verilog-A.
Experience with silicon electrical characterization and model validation.
Excellent
data analysis, problem-solving
, and statistical analysis skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to work across engineering teams and influence project success.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience in electrical characterization (I-V, C-V, device parameter extraction).
Proficiency with
TCAD tools
for device simulation and design.
Experience with semiconductor fabrication processes and integration.
Demonstrated technical leadership and creative problem-solving capabilities.
