PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Prepare and execute test and commissioning activities for signalling systems on field, in support to one or several projects
• Manage, as a team leader, T&C technicians

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and execute testing activities

• in support to one or several Projects on railway signalling systems under the direction of his / her hierarchy
• according to the testing procedure / documentation and following Sub-system T&C Leader and / or PrCOM instructions
• Ensure defects identification and correction (trouble shooting)
• In the event of a non-conformity observed during the commissioning phase, make a return experience (REX) towards the project, and ensure that all design related issues are correctly reported in the adequate tools, including the defect description and associated test context
• Ensure follow-up of detected issues and deliver the commissioning reports.
• Check that the test tools are in perfect working order and calibrated.
• Support V&V team and perform test in lab as per request
• Deliver the committed performance in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines and in compliance with Alstom policies, local standards and regulations (in particular EHS and Railway Safety)

Performance Measurement

• Efficiency and proactivity during the execution of the T&C tests
• Compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards
• Quality of anticipation, monitoring and reporting

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

• Master's degree in engineering (preferably electronics or embedded systems) or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of English language (read, written, spoken)

Desirable:

• Railway and signaling knowledge
• Any other additional language is an asset

Experience

Mandatory:

• Min 5 years of experience of working on CBTC system
• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Mechanical or related fields
• Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches including network redundancy protocols
• Good working knowledge of Ethernet, Industrial Ethernet, Routers, Firewall
• Knowledge Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), copper, and fibre-optic network.
• Basic Knowledge of VLANs, QOS, trunking, RSTP, PVSTP+, ACLs, SNMP, SSL, Check Point.
• Conceptual Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) system design requirements, such as RF link budgets, signal propagation and modulation.
• Knowledge of general communications theory concepts such as modulation, noise, and bit error rates.

Desirable:

• Previous Engineering, V&V, T&C or Maintenance for Railway Signaling is an asset.
• Team management skills
