Global Corporate Tax Process Management - Associate - Bengaluru
The Tax department is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Global Corporate Tax Process Management Team with a primary focus on end-to-end process management, execution and controls.
The individual should have experience in overseeing the collection, preparation, review and distribution of data to assemble key deliverables. Responsibilities will cover working with our Tax professionals located in multiple jurisdictions across the globe (e.g. EMEA, India and APAC) to design and operate of processes related to indirect tax compliance. The candidate would use their analytical skills to identify opportunities to leverage technology tools and engineering solutions to support transformation and convert newly designed solutions into routine and controlled processes.
This role will entail working closely with our Tax professionals to drive process improvements by leveraging the support and coordinating with our Engineering, Controllers and Operations teams to manage implementations, data gathering and analysis, execution and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Partner with our Tax professionals to help design and implement in-house indirect tax reporting process management, including coordination with Controllers, Engineering and Business Data & Intelligence teams
Act as a central point of contact to the outsourced VAT compliance vendor for the provision of financial data required for indirect tax reporting
Execute day-to-day activities based on standard operational procedures, processes and systems used for indirect tax compliances, including any related reconciliation and reporting tasks. Creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures in accordance with the firm policies
Perform risk management by identifying controls weakness, mitigate risk, maintain KRIs, and improve overall service experience
Work with Tax, Finance Controllers, Engineering, business units, and outside consultants to leverage technology solutions for the Tax department (e.g., compliance software, ERP systems, low-code automation tools, and internally developed systems) and develop knowledge of tools, systems and upstream processes in support of the tax reporting function and highlight opportunities for improvement, managing projects that will yield risk mitigation and efficiency through optimization and automation
Utilize advanced analytical tools (including Goldman SachsaEUR(TM) AI tool) to build, control, maintain and deliver large structured and unstructured data sets from various data sources in the most effective and efficient way, including timely extraction and transformation of data from disparate sources into a form that is consumable by analytics and tax compliance processes
Manage relationships to track and monitor workstream(s) progress, ensure timely reporting of milestone and dependency status, monitor risks and issues to escalate to leadership, and execute day-to-day project management activities
Requirements/Experience/Education:
BacheloraEUR(TM)s degree or above in accounting, finance or business administration
Excellent Communication Skills and ability to prioritize workload to drive results, solve problems, and take accountability for deadlines / outcomes
3+ years of relevant work experience in Operations, Accounting, Finance or related field
Experience with reporting indirect taxes (e.g. VAT, GST or similar regimes) for multinational business would be considered an asset
Organized, analytical and methodical with a strong sense of process improvement within the control risk framework
Proficiency in MS Excel
Experience with tax and accounting products such as Oracle, Thomson Reuters, Corporate tax, including knowledge in Alteryx, MS Power Query/Pivot, SQL, JSON and other analytical tools will be an added advantage
High level of accuracy in managing tax-related processes and documentation, attention to detail, flexible, proactive, self-starter
