The Tax Analyst has responsibility for reviewing multi-state and franchise tax returns for AMETEK and its subsidiaries. The responsibilities include tax compliance, preparation and audits, in addition to providing input into the quarterly and annual calculation of U.S. GAAP worldwide tax provision.
Position Responsibilities
include (but are not limited to) the following: Provide direction and feedback to Tax Analysts
Utilize tax return preparation software
Accumulate and analyze data for tax compliance
Provide research on specific state issues
Creation of technical memorandums
Conducting multi-state analysis to identify optimal filing options, credits and incentives, and corporate structures
Audit defense for state income and franchise tax, sales and use tax and excise tax filings
Interface with various state auditors to develop an audit plan, sampling methods, and tax positions
Accumulate and analyze data for audit support
Present status updates as subject matter expert at department meetings
Provide suggestions for process improvements to increase efficiency
Serve as analytical problem solver
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3-5 years experience in public or corporate accounting
Other Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of US GAAP tax reporting and application of ASC 740
