Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoor Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing a wide variety of Indian tandoori dishes using traditional clay ovens (tandoors) while maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook tandoori dishes such as naan, roti, kebabs, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, tandoori chicken, and other grilled items. Operate and maintain tandoor ovens, ensuring optimal cooking temperatures and conditions. Marinate meats and vegetables using authentic spices and recipes. Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen staff to plan and execute menu items. Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all tandoor dishes. Monitor inventory and assist in ordering fresh ingredients and spices. Follow food safety and hygiene standards in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness. Assist in training junior kitchen staff on tandoor techniques and safety practices.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef or similar role in an Indian restaurant or hotel. In-depth knowledge of tandoori cooking techniques and Indian spices. Ability to work in a high-pressure kitchen environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physical stamina to work long hours in a hot kitchen environment. Certification in food safety and hygiene (preferred but not required).

Working Conditions:

Full-time or part-time positions available. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. Standing for long periods and working near high-heat equipment.
