Summary
The Systems Accountant provides support to finance teams using D365 Finance & Operations, focusing on ticket triage, system issue investigation, user access administration, and the documentation of recurring system behaviours. The role is integral to ensuring platform reliability and a smooth user experience across key finance functions. It may also involve support for finance system integrations across the Supply Tech ecosystem, including data flow monitoring and issue coordination with upstream or downstream systems.
Roles and Responsibilities -
BAU support and issue triage

• Respond to queries and issues raised by finance users across core D365 F&O modules
• Monitor and manage incoming support tickets, ensuring timely response and follow-up
• Investigate issues related to journals, workflows, posting errors, vendor payments, and reconciliations
• Escalate complex issues to functional consultants or technical teams with relevant context

User setup and maintenance

• Action user access and security role requests for D365 F&O in line with governance procedures
• Maintain worker records, T3 mappings, and related setup elements
• Support onboarding activities for new system users

System behaviour and integration support

• Review Holding Table records, booking amendments, and system-generated journals
• Assist with production data fixes and correction entries under guidance
• Monitor and support data integrations between D365 and other Supply Tech systems (e.g. TravelBox, Basware, Payment Factory), escalating integration issues or delays as needed
• Identify recurring patterns and contribute insights to improvement backlogs

Documentation and knowledge sharing

• Create and update user guides, FAQs, and internal procedures
• Log known issues and resolution paths for internal reference
• Contribute to team documentation, onboarding materials, and simple process flows

Collaboration

• Work closely with finance stakeholders, product managers, and support teams
• Participate in smoke testing and UAT as required during system changes or upgrades
• Support training and internal communications related to new features or known issues

Must-Have Skills
Essential

• Experience supporting an ERP or finance system (preferably D365 Finance & Operations)
• Good understanding of transactional finance processes (e.g. journals, AP, AR, payments)
• Analytical and process-oriented with strong problem-solving ability
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to prioritise and manage competing requests

Desirable

• Familiarity with Microsoft D365 F&O navigation and setup
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow)
• Knowledge of processes, workflows, and integration flows across finance systems
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Systems
