The System Integration & Piloting Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end drone assembly, subsystem integration, technical testing, flight validation, and field operations. This role requires strong hands-on engineering skills along with proficient drone piloting for testing, calibration, demonstration, and customer deployment. Key Responsibilities
System Integration
Integrate UAV subsystems including flight controllers, GPS, ESCs, motors, telemetry modules, payloads, and communication systems.
Prepare wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, and system architecture diagrams.
Perform firmware configuration, sensor calibration, and parameter tuning (ArduPilot / PX4).
Drone Piloting & Field Operations
Pilot multirotor and fixed-wing drones for testing, calibration, endurance checks, and mission validation.
Conduct regular test flights: hover tests, RTL tests, auto missions, waypoint accuracy checks.
Execute field missions for spraying, surveillance, mapping, or customer demonstrations.
Maintain flight logs, battery logs, and mission reports.
Testing & Troubleshooting
Execute ground tests, Field Operational Checks (FOC), and pre-flight inspections.
Debug issues related to RF links, power systems, GPS accuracy, ESC synchronization, FC configuration, or payload integration.
Perform telemetry, vibration, and flight performance analysis.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare integration notes, wiring diagrams, flight test reports, and QC checklists.
Maintain configuration history and system revision control.
Safety & Compliance
Follow DGCA and aviation safety protocols, risk assessments, and pre-flight safety procedures.
Conduct site surveys, airspace checks, and ensure a safe flight environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Avionics, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with multirotor and/or fixed-wing drones.
Skilled drone pilot with experience in manual, stabilized, altitude hold, and GPS modes.
Strong understanding of flight controllers (Pixhawk, Cube, custom FC), communication protocols (CAN, UART, I2C, SBUS, MAVLink), and power systems.
Ability to read schematics, wiring drawings, and mechanical layouts.
Experience with Mission Planner and/or QGroundControl.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
DGCA Drone Pilot Certification.
Experience with ArduPilot/PX4 tuning and log analysis.
Understanding of EMI/EMC, RF communication, and digital transmission systems.
