System Engineer (Railway Signalling)
Location - Bangalore/ Mysore
General :
Having knowledge and understanding system engineering principles, developing system
interface control document, developing test plans/test cases/test procedures, executing test
procedures during integration /FAT/SAT and creating compliance matrices and reports.
Demonstrate analysing skills and facilitate resolution of customer expectations versus
technical issues; provide leadership skills and co-ordinate with other disciplines,
stakeholders, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
xe2x97x8f To interface with the product team and project engineering teams for performing
technical requirement development coming from reference and applicable documents
from standards, RAMS, product, and customer requirements allocation to the system.
xe2x97x8f Driving technical relationships with suppliers with close management of quality
commitments, risks & validation (including Design Reviews with suppliers).
xe2x97x8f Validating the system requirements, operational modes and safety functionalities
taking as input the external/internal requirements for trackside signalling systems
(especially the Axle counting and Object controller devices).
xe2x97x8f Support for Testing, Safety, RAM, T&C and Project Management.
xe2x97x8f Contribute to innovative projects.
System Validation:
xe2x97x8f Defining and performing verification strategy for Digital Axle Counter
(SSDAC/MSDAC) system in trackside railway signalling for automatic train
movement in close collaboration with all engineering metiers, certification & validation
teams, and other participating units.
xe2x97x8f Verify the system requirements definition and system design with all necessary
verification means, including modelling and simulation means.
xe2x97x8f Writing the system level test specifications.
xe2x97x8f Ensuring the system integration and performance tuning with signalling devices are
tested.
xe2x97x8f Providing Return of Experience (RoE) to be implemented in products to improve their
related quality and performances.
Support for customer service.
xe2x97x8f Drive the technical open issues resolution on customer service request and operation
issues, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure.
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATION:
xe2x97x8f Master or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication/
Automotive)
xe2x97x8f Fluency in English (spoken and written) required for internal and external
communications.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
xe2x97x8f More than 2 - 5 years experience working on railway system validation &
engineering process.
xe2x97x8f Technical knowledge of Axle Counters or Electronic Interlocking required.
xe2x97x8f Knowledge of Installation, Application Configuration and product management is
required.
xe2x97x8f Good knowledge of IP networking and Ethernet-based applications.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
xe2x97x8f Application of Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) analysis and Safety
assurance.
xe2x97x8f Knowledge of Railway Signalling, rolling stock vehicles and maintenance.
xe2x97x8f Knowledge in CENELEC EN50126, EN50129 or IEC 61508, EN50128 or EN50716,
EN50159.
xe2x97x8f Knowledge in Risk Analysis, RAMS calculation methods and tools.
xe2x97x8f Electrical and/or Mechanical and/or Functional System Engineering applied to
Railway Signalling products.
