Role Summary:
The System and Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of servers, systems, networks, and IT infrastructure. The role ensures high availability, security, performance, and reliability of IT systems supporting organizational operations.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration
Install, configure, manage, and maintain Windows/Linux systems.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions.
Perform system backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery planning.
Apply OS patches, updates, and security fixes regularly.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues.
Network Administration
Configure and manage LAN, WAN, WLAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity.
Implement network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS.
Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues.
Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
Security & Compliance
Ensure system and network security as per organizational and government IT policies.
Implement antivirus, endpoint security, and access control mechanisms.
Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Maintain logs, documentation, and compliance records.
IT Support & Operations
Provide technical support for servers, network, and IT infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software support.
Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
Support application hosting and data center operations, if applicable.
Experience Requirements:
More than 3 years
of hands-on experience in System and Network Administration.
Experience in managing enterprise IT infrastructure and data center environments.
Exposure to Corporate/government / PSU / large-scale project environments is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Windows, Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls)
Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
Backup and recovery tools
Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to handle critical systems and emergency situations
