Key Responsibilities:
? Maintain and administer the IT infrastructure at Works (including WAN/ LAN, OS/ mail/ print servers, workstations, peripherals, VPN, data security systems, etc.)
? Coordinate with suppliers & service providers for the installation and configuration of computer hardware, software, peripherals like printers, scanners, etc., and other specialized equipment; oversee their work to assure completeness and functionality
? Check regularly that PCs/ laptops, servers, networks, peripherals, and other specialized equipment are in working order and used properly, arrange for upgrading/ maintenance/ repairs as necessary to minimize system/ network downtime, interruptions in business transactions and inconvenience to individual users
? Provide technical support in the operation of computers, peripherals and related equipment, standard/ custom software packages, on-line information systems, etc.
? Update system/ security software (including patches) regularly in servers/ PCs/ laptops to reflect current versions; install Back-up Agents in all PCs/laptops for automatic backup of user files
? Trouble-shoot computer files, hardware/ software, and other system/ network/ equipment problems, perform file maintenance, respond to user calls for assistance
? Perform data back-up/ restoration
? Track inventory of computer consumables and system related components at Works, raise indents for replenishments
? Provide network access and facilities access (E-mail ID, security features, Internet connection) to authorized users
? Monitor Internet usage and report misuse
? Monitor the E-mail system to ensure that it is used by employees for official purposes only, report misuse
? Implement company IT policies, rules and procedures, promote efficient and safe working with computers and ensure user training in the same
? Prepare and maintain documentation and records as required by ISO procedures
? Perform other duties that may arise in the course of employment as assigned by management
Qualifications & Experience:
? Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant fields
? Knowledge of LAN/WAN/MAN and PC related concepts, systems analyses, and database management
? Proven work experience as an IT Support Specialist or relevant experience
? Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
? Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
? Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
? Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
? Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
