The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of all hardware, software, networks, ERP systems, and technology resources. The role ensures timely technical support to staff and students and contributes to technology-driven learning environments.
Maintain and monitor LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi networks, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Ensure secure and stable internet connectivity across the campus.
Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with service providers for uninterrupted service.
Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT equipment.
2. Server & System Administration
Manage servers, domain controllers, backup systems, and cloud-based services.
Perform regular updates, patching, and system upgrades.
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of resources.
Implement data backup, recovery, and storage protocols.
3. Classroom & Learning Technology Support
Maintain smart boards, projectors, digital classrooms, biometric systems, and CCTV.
Provide technical support during assemblies, events, and academic activities.
Assist teachers and students in using digital tools, LMS, and e-learning platforms.
4. ERP & Software Management
Manage school ERP systems (attendance, academics, fees, HR, transport, etc.).
Coordinate with ERP vendors for updates, customizations, and troubleshooting.
Ensure data accuracy, user access control, and regular database backups.
5. Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Implement IT security policies and monitor user access.
Manage antivirus solutions, firewalls, and cybersecurity protocols.
Prevent unauthorized access, data breaches, and ensure data privacy compliance.
Conduct periodic security audits.
6. IT Support & Helpdesk Management
Provide timely support for hardware/software issues for staff and students.
Install and configure laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure AMC renewals.
Train staff on basic technology use and troubleshooting.
7. Coordination & Documentation
Maintain IT-related records, service logs, asset tracking, and documentation.
Coordinate with vendors for IT purchases, service calls, and maintenance.
Support management in planning IT upgrades and budgeting.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Electronics or relevant diploma.
Minimum 3-8 years of experience in IT System Administration (preferably in educational institutions).
Strong knowledge of networking, servers, OS (Windows/Linux), and hardware troubleshooting.
Experience with ERP systems, LMS, digital classroom tools, and security systems is an advantage.
