Core Responsibilities Infrastructure Management: Monitor and maintain servers (physical/virtual), storage, and networking hardware. System Reliability: Ensure 99.9% uptime for Critical Clinical Systems (HIS, EMR/EHR, PACS). Security & Compliance: Enforce HIPAA/GDPR standards, manage firewalls, and execute robust backup/disaster recovery protocols. User Support: Manage Active Directory, O365, and provide Tier 2/3 technical escalation for hospital staff. Performance Tuning: Patch systems and optimize database performance to prevent lag during peak clinical hours. Key Requirements Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows/Linux Servers, VMware/Hyper-V, and SQL databases. Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare data privacy laws and cybersecurity best practices. Availability: Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency system outages. Soft Skills: High pressure tolerance and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical medical staff.
