System Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a System Administrator with 1-2 years of experience to support and maintain the IT infrastructure at Poornam Info Vision Pvt. Ltd. The ideal candidate will assist in managing servers, networks, and internal systems to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient IT operations. This role offers excellent learning opportunities in system, network, and cloud administration.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux and Windows servers. Support virtualization environments such as Proxmox or VMware or KVM. Monitor and manage network devices including firewalls, routers, and switches. Administer user accounts and access controls through Active Directory or LDAP. Support and maintain internal services such as DHCP, DNS, Nginx/Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and Mail servers. Perform regular updates, patching, and backups to ensure system security and performance. Monitor infrastructure health and performance using Zabbix, Site24x7, or Nagios. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues. Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and change logs. Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices.
Educational Qualification:

MCA or M.Sc. Computer Science
Experience:

1-2 years of hands-on experience in system, server, or network administration. Exposure to Linux and Windows server environments. Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as Proxmox, VMware, or Hyper-V. Experience in network setup and troubleshooting preferred.
Technical Skills:

Good understanding of Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) and Windows Server administration. Knowledge of networking fundamentals - DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls. Familiarity with virtualization tools such as Proxmox, VMware, or KVM. Exposure to backup and monitoring tools (Zabbix, Site24x7, or Nagios). Basic scripting knowledge (Bash/Python/PowerShell) for automation tasks. Awareness of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus. Understanding of Data Center operations including cabling and rack management is desirable.
