What you'll Do:

System & Infrastructure Management:

Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. Administer and optimize Windows, Linux/Unix servers, and virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V). Ensure high availability and performance of servers, network systems, and enterprise applications. Manage storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based solutions, ensuring data redundancy and integrity. Oversee hardware upgrades, perform preventive maintenance, and resolve infrastructure-related issues to minimize downtime.

Network and Security Management:

Oversee the setup and management of network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless networks. Implement advanced security measures, including intrusion detection, firewalls, encryption, and multi-factor authentication. Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities, perform regular security audits, and mitigate any risks.

Cloud Infrastructure and Virtualization:

Manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and ensure seamless integration with on-premises systems. Administer and optimize virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V) to ensure scalability, performance, and availability. Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Design, implement, and test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure minimal downtime during system failures or outages. Oversee regular backup processes, recovery testing, and updates to disaster recovery plans.

Automation & Scripting:

Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to streamline deployment and configuration management. Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Respond to escalated system issues and outages, coordinating with other teams to resolve technical problems quickly and effectively. Conduct post-incident reviews and improve processes to prevent recurrence.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, policies, and incident reports. Prepare regular reports on system performance, security status, and resource usage for senior management.

What We are Looking For:

Proven success in an IT role. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science. Knowledge of Unix systems administration. Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator. Expertise in managing Windows and Linux/Unix-based servers and systems. Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Advanced knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices. Strong experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Hands-on experience with IT monitoring tools and performance management. Strong understanding of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, and cloud storage) and database systems. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure during incidents. Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
