The Opportunity

UST is looking for System Administrator

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows operating systems in lab environments. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Perform OS patching, driver/firmware updates, and security compliance tasks.

Configure and manage virtualized environments (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker/Kubernetes). Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network connectivity issues in a lab setup. Automate routine sysadmin tasks using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripts. Maintain system health monitoring dashboards and logs (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar). Support backup, recovery, and data management procedures. Collaborate with lab support, validation, and IT teams to ensure smooth operations.

Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and inventory records.

Required Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Server administration. Knowledge of networking fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall basics. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V, Docker).

Scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Experience with configuration/automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar) preferred.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in multi-platform environments. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualification:

bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronics, IT, or related field.

3-5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator in IT infrastructure or lab environments. Relevant certifications (Linux+, RHCE, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware) are desirable
