Sustainability Consultant

Job Summary

The Sustainability Consultant supports organizations and individual projects in developing ESG strategies, achieving net-zero commitments, and preparing high-quality sustainability and ESG reports. This role focuses on carbon management, decarbonisation planning, ESG integration, and delivery of carbon-neutral projects, including residential homes. The consultant will also support client engagement and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

ESG Strategy & Governance

Develop and implement corporate ESG strategies aligned with business objectives Support ESG governance structures, policies, and internal controls Conduct materiality and double materiality assessments

Net-Zero & Decarbonisation

Prepare corporate GHG inventories (Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3) Support setting of net-zero and science-aligned emissions reduction targets Develop decarbonisation roadmaps and transition plans Track emissions performance and progress against net-zero commitments

Sustainability & ESG Reporting

Prepare annual sustainability and ESG reports for corporate clients Support mandatory and voluntary sustainability disclosures Develop ESG metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards Ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit-readiness of reported data

Climate & Carbon Reporting

Prepare carbon footprint reports and climate action disclosures Support climate-related risk and opportunity reporting Align climate and carbon disclosures with recognized national and international frameworks

Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building

Support supplier ESG engagement and emissions data collection Conduct ESG awareness and capacity-building programs for clients and stakeholders

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Climate Science, or a related field

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in corporate ESG and sustainability reporting Solid understanding of carbon accounting and net-zero pathways Familiarity with ESG frameworks, disclosures, and governance practices Excellent technical writing, data analysis, and presentation skills

Soft Skills

Strong client advisory and stakeholder engagement abilities Strategic and analytical thinking Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and meet deadlines

Experience

Experienced candidates with prior exposure to corporate ESG, sustainability reporting, net-zero strategy, or sustainability consulting are preferred
