Key responsibilities

Measuring land:

Surveyors measure distances, angles, elevations, and shapes of land and property for various purposes, from construction planning to legal documentation.

Mapping:

They create maps and drawings to represent land features, boundaries, and other geographical information.

Boundary determination:

A key role is to research historical records and establish official property and land boundaries for legal documents like deeds and leases.

Data analysis and reporting:

They interpret survey data and prepare comprehensive reports, maps, and plots to present their findings to clients, construction companies, and government agencies.

Site evaluation:

They evaluate sites to provide data for construction, environmental projects, and infrastructure planning.
