Key Responsibilities



A. Clinical & Surgical Responsibilities



Conduct OPD consultations, evaluate new and follow-up cancer patients, and plan treatment. Diagnose, stage, and treat a wide range of solid tumors using approved surgical oncology protocols. Perform surgeries such as: Breast cancer surgeries (lumpectomy, mastectomy, SLNB). GI oncology surgeries (colon, stomach, pancreas as applicable). Head & neck tumor surgeries. Soft tissue and skin tumor excisions. Urologic oncology procedures (if trained). Manage perioperative care, ensuring safe preoperative preparation and postoperative follow-up. Handle oncology-related emergencies such as tumor bleeding, obstruction, or perforation.

B. Multidisciplinary Coordination



Participate actively in Tumor Boards and coordinate joint treatment plans with medical and radiation oncologists. Collaborate closely with pathology, radiology, critical care, and palliative care teams. Provide clear counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, recovery, and prognosis.

C. Diagnostic & Procedural Duties



Request and interpret imaging studies (CT, MRI, PET-CT, USG) and biopsy results. Perform biopsies, FNAC, port insertions, and minor oncological procedures. Ensure proper TNM staging and documentation based on NCCN/ESMO guidelines.

D. Patient Safety & Compliance



Ensure adherence to NABH, infection control, OT safety protocols, and hospital policies. Maintain complete and accurate medical records in the HIS. Obtain informed consent and follow medico-legal requirements meticulously. Participate in morbidity & mortality meetings, internal audits, and quality improvement projects.

E. Academic & Team Responsibilities



Support training and guidance of junior doctors, fellows, and nursing teams. Participate in CMEs, tumor registry updates, awareness camps, and oncology-related educational activities. Contribute to clinical research and promote evidence-based practice whenever feasible.

3. Qualifications & Requirements



M.Ch. Surgical Oncology / DNB Surgical Oncology from a recognized medical institution.

Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience

in surgical oncology practice. Valid Medical Council Registration (Mandatory). Experience in managing complex cancer surgeries is desirable. Knowledge of NCCN, ESMO, and ASCO guidelines.

4. Skills & Competencies



Proficiency in surgical oncology techniques and perioperative management. Strong diagnostic ability and clinical judgment. Excellent communication and patient-counseling skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. Ability to manage high-stress scenarios and emergencies.

5. Work Conditions



OPD, IPD, OT duties as per scheduled roster. On-call duties and emergency responsibilities. High-volume, fast-paced clinical environment requiring precision and focus.

Pay: ?240,000.00 - ?250,000.00 per month
