Job Details



To lead and coordinate surface treatment processes -- particularly plating -- across In-house and vendor operations to ensure consistent quality, process efficiency, and compliance with internal standards. This role aims to improve plating quality, reduce rework/rejections, and support overall production excellence.

Plating Process Oversight:

Coordinate and monitor plating activities at both in-house and vendor locations to ensure high-quality surface treatment. Standardize plating procedures and drive best practices across vendors and internal teams. Evaluate plating quality through inspections and performance data; implement corrective actions as required. Develop and maintain SOPs for plating process across production units.

Vendor & Inhouse Coordination:

Establish strong working relationships with external vendors to ensure adherence to plating quality benchmarks and timelines. Schedule and coordinate plating activities to align with production planning and delivery deadlines. Provide technical support and training to vendors on process improvements and quality standards.

Quality Improvement & Control:

Identify root causes for plating-related quality issues (e.g. color deviation, peeling, tarnish) and drive systemic solutions. Collaborate with the Quality Control team to conduct plating quality audits and ensure compliance with quality standards. Define and track plating KPIs including rejection rates, thickness consistency, and surface finish.

Production Integration:

Work with Planning, midstream, and Downstream teams to ensure plating and Stripping processes are integrated into the overall production schedule. Optimize plating turnaround time to support production lead time targets (2-3 days). Assist in cost control by improving plating efficiency and reducing chemical/material waste.

Job Requirements


Education

B SC Chemistry / Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering

Relevant Experience

5+ years of experience in plating or surface treatment roles, preferably in the jewellery, watch, or precision manufacturing industry. Hands-on knowledge of electroplating techniques and surface finishing processes.


Behavioural Skills

High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Process-oriented with continuous improvement mindset. Effective communicator and team collaborator.


Knowledge

Strong understanding of plating chemistry and troubleshooting techniques. Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead cross-functional communication between production, QC, and vendors.
