Job Description

Role OverviewThe role involves operating surface grinding machines and carrying out precision machining, finishing, and inspection of tools, dies, and components as per engineering drawings and quality standards (p. 1).Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

Set up and operate surface grinding machines to produce precision tools, dies, and components. Ensure proper alignment, setup, and clamping of workpieces and fixtures (p. 1).

Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation:

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances (p. 2).

Grinding & Finishing:

Perform precision grinding operations to achieve the required surface finish and accuracy. Select appropriate grinding wheels and abrasives for each job (p. 2).

Quality Inspection:

Inspect finished parts using micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, and surface finish comparators. Maintain high accuracy and finish standards (p. 2).

Maintenance & Safety:

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machines and tools and follow all safety procedures (p. 2).

Documentation:

Maintain job records, inspection reports, and tool maintenance logs (p. 2).
Qualifications & Skills

Education:

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering (p. 2).

Experience:

2-5 years of experience in surface grinding or tool room operations (p. 2).

Skills:

Knowledge of precision machining and measuring instruments, ability to read engineering drawings, attention to detail, quality orientation, and basic machine handling (p. 2).
