Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Vendor Management

Own procurement strategy across assigned geographies (ocean, air, drayage, warehousing, last-mile). Source, negotiate, and finalize rate contracts with carriers, consolidators, and trucking vendors. Build and maintain a preferred vendor base with robust performance scorecards. Secure capacity proactively by forecasting demand with Geo Heads.

2. Network Design & Optimization

Analyze trade lane performance and design a robust, scalable supply chain network to reduce lead times, improve service reliability, and lower landed cost. Continuously evaluate alternative routings, transshipment hubs, and partners to optimize cost-to-serve. Support expansion into new lanes (IN?WW, CN?US, SEA?EU etc.) with lane setup playbooks and SOPs.

3. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

Define lane-level SOPs in collaboration with Geo Heads and Operations teams. Monitor shipment milestones, exceptions, and on-time performance using dashboards. Run root-cause analysis for service failures and lead corrective/preventive action. Partner with Product/Tech teams to automate processes, standardize workflows, and drive measurable improvements.

4. Cost & Performance Management

Track procurement cost vs market benchmarks and improve cost competitiveness. Drive quarterly business reviews with key vendors, share scorecards, and co-develop improvement plans. Identify cost-saving and process-efficiency opportunities with clear ROI impact.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with trade regulations, contracts, and internal governance. Build contingency plans for capacity shortages, rate volatility, and operational disruptions.

Mindset:

Problem-solver, data-driven, thrives in ambiguity, and takes end-to-end ownership.
