The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with the business objectives of the retail jewellery organization. This leadership role encompasses procurement, vendor development, inventory planning, logistics, and distribution, with a core focus on operational efficiency, compliance, cost control, and high-value product handling.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Supply Chain Leadership
Define and lead the end-to-end supply chain strategy to ensure timely and cost-effective availability of products across all retail and distribution points.
Align supply chain operations with evolving business needs, customer expectations, and industry trends.
2. Procurement & Vendor Management
Establish long-term vendor relationships and ensure adherence to quality, pricing, and service-level agreements.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost efficiencies.
3. Inventory & Demand Planning
Ensure inventory optimization across warehouses, showrooms, and franchise outlets.
Lead demand forecasting in collaboration with planning and merchandising teams to minimize stock-outs and overstocking.
Implement stock rotation strategies and manage aging inventory effectively.
4. Logistics & Distribution
Oversee the design and execution of secure, scalable, and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Manage last-mile delivery operations, reverse logistics, and inter-store transfers with high accuracy and accountability.
Ensure full compliance with legal and security protocols for transportation of high-value goods.
5. Technology & Process Optimization
Drive automation and digitalization to increase operational efficiency and data transparency.
Establish and monitor key operational metrics, ensuring continual process improvement.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to statutory, customs, and regulatory guidelines.
Mitigate risks related to shrinkage, theft, and supply disruptions through robust controls and contingency planning.
7. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build and lead a high-performing team across logistics operations.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Retail, Finance, Merchandising, and Design for alignment and execution.
