We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Engineer - Supply Chain to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving supplier development, ensuring competitive sourcing, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our diverse client and project requirements. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, cost engineering knowledge, and commercial acumen to scout, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers while ensuring alignment with organizational goals of quality, cost, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Development & Management
Scout, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers for components, raw materials, and services.
Conduct supplier audits covering quality, capacity, compliance, and capability.
Facilitate supplier onboarding in line with company standards and compliance requirements.
Develop and nurture long-term relationships with supplier partners to ensure reliability and collaboration.
Continuously assess supplier performance and support corrective action/improvement plans.
Sourcing & Procurement
Float enquiries, request quotations, and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
Negotiate and finalize commercials with suppliers to achieve cost competitiveness without compromising quality and delivery.
Apply Zero-Based Costing, Should Costing, and Activity-Based Costing methods for cost analysis and supplier negotiations.
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop and source components or services tailored to specific client/project needs.
Ensure procurement activities are aligned with project timelines and business objectives.
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
Work with management to review supplier performance periodically (quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, responsiveness).
Recommend and implement improvements in supply chain processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
Maintain supplier scorecards and performance dashboards for management reviews.
Collaboration & Reporting
Support cross-functional teams including design, quality, production, and projects to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
Provide insights on supply base risks, opportunities, and strategic sourcing options.
Prepare reports and presentations on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and market cost trends.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering (or related discipline).
Supply Chain or Procurement certifications (preferred, not mandatory).
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, or supplier development within manufacturing environment - preferably Automotive & Electric Vehicle OEMs / Tier 1 suppliers.
Hands-on experience in:
Zero-Based Costing
Should Costing
Activity-Based Costing
Strong background in supplier audits, negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
Technical & Functional Skills:
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier capabilities, and quality systems - preferably from Automotive / EV component suppliers / OEMs
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
Familiarity with ERP systems, procurement software, and MS Office tools.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Analytical mindset with cost modelling and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: ₹360,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
