ngineer is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of raw materials, machined components, and purchased parts delivered by external vendors to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, tolerances, and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform dimensional and visual inspections on incoming materials, machined parts, and outsourced components using tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and VMM.
Read and interpret complex mechanical and CNC machining drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Verify vendor-supplied documentation such as material certifications, and inspection reports.
Record inspection results accurately and maintain traceability.
issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and assist in root cause analysis.
Communicate with vendors and purchasing to address quality issues, track corrective actions, and monitor supplier performance.
Assist with first article inspection (FAI) processes for new or revised parts.
Support quality audits of external suppliers as required.
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure all measuring tools are calibrated and in good working condition.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing or quality (preferred).
3+ years of experience in quality inspection within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
