Job Purpose

To supervise and monitor daily operations of the Production Department, ensuring smooth production activities, adherence to quality standards, and achievement of shift-wise production targets with optimum manpower and machine utilization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations

Supervise day-to-day operations of production lines for wires and strips. Ensure production is carried out as per the given plan, shift targets, and standard operating procedures. Monitor process parameters such as coating thickness, curing temperature, viscosity, and speed. Minimize downtime by coordinating with maintenance and ensuring quick problem resolution.

2. Quality Assurance

Ensure enamel-coated wires/strips meet required technical specifications and customer requirements. Conduct and verify in-process checks (adhesion, flexibility, coating, dimensions, curing). Report deviations immediately and coordinate corrective actions. Reduce rejections, rework, and maintain records of defects.

3. Manpower Management

Assign and supervise work to operators and helpers in the enamelling section. Ensure proper shift-wise manpower allocation and discipline. Train operators on SOPs, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Motivate team to achieve higher productivity and efficiency.

4. Equipment & Process Control

Monitor and ensure smooth running of enamelling machines, curing ovens, and handling systems. Ensure dies, varnishes, and consumables are properly used and handled. Support preventive maintenance schedules and report breakdowns to maintenance team.

5. Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to plant safety rules, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards. Ensure compliance with ISO, environmental, and statutory regulations. Prepare daily production and quality reports and share with superiors.

Key Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of copper & aluminium enamelling process (single, double & multi-coat). Understanding of enamelling machines, ovens, dies, and process parameters. Ability to handle workforce across shifts. Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Good communication and reporting abilities. Hands-on approach with focus on production & quality

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering. 0 - 6 years of relevant experience in production of enamelled copper & aluminium wires/strips. * Prior supervisory experience in a wire & conductor manufacturing setup preferred.
