The Metal Supervisor will oversee all metal fabrication, welding, cutting, and finishing operations within the production unit. This role ensures product quality, safety compliance, workflow efficiency, and team performance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of metalworking processes and proven supervisory experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Production & Operations
Supervise daily metal fabrication activities including cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
Allocate tasks and manage workflow to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Ensure all fabrication work aligns with design drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
Monitor machine performance and coordinate timely maintenance to reduce downtime.
2. Quality Assurance
Inspect fabricated components to ensure dimensional accuracy and finishing quality.
Identify defects, suggest corrective actions, and ensure rework is completed promptly.
Maintain quality records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Team Management
Lead, train, and mentor a team of welders, fabricators, and helpers.
Conduct performance evaluations and ensure skill development.
Foster a disciplined, safe, and productive workplace environment.
4. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety standards and use of PPE according to company and statutory guidelines.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure safe handling of equipment and materials.
Report incidents, near misses, and ensure corrective/preventive actions.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain production logs, attendance, equipment usage reports, and material consumption records.
Coordinate with the stores team for material planning and inventory control.
Provide daily and weekly production reports to management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Fabrication, Welding, or related field (preferred).
10+ years of experience in metal fabrication; 5+ years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG/TIG/Arc), CNC cutting, and fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with safety protocols and industrial standards.
