Job Title:

Supervisor - Maintenance (Labeling, Machine Handling & Packaging)

Experience Required:

Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in maintenance of packaging and labeling machinery.

Education Required:

Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Operate and maintain

labeling, capping, sealing, filling, shrink-wrapping, and packaging machines

. Identify root causes of mechanical or electrical faults and resolve issues promptly to

reduce downtime

. Perform routine

preventive maintenance

and maintain machine health to avoid breakdowns. Maintain and follow

maintenance schedules and logbooks

for all equipment.

2. Production Line Support

Ensure machines are running efficiently during production, with minimal interruptions. Monitor machine performance and make

adjustments to speed, alignment, and quality settings

as needed. Assist in

format or SKU changeovers

, machine cleaning, and validation processes. Coordinate closely with production and quality teams during batch starts and line clearance.

3. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed reports of maintenance work done, breakdowns, spares used, and machine history. Update machine maintenance checklist and downtime reports on a daily basis.

4. Spare Parts & Tools Management

Identify and inform management about the need for

spare parts and consumables

. Ensure tools and spare inventory are well maintained and organized.

5. Safety & Compliance

Adhere to

GMP, hygiene, and safety regulations

during all maintenance activities. Ensure

lockout/tagout procedures

are followed during equipment maintenance. Wear appropriate

PPE

and ensure team compliance with safety protocols.

6. Team Supervision (If Applicable)

Guide and monitor the work of helpers, technicians, or contract staff on shift. Provide on-the-job training and ensure team discipline and performance.

Required Technical Skills:

Sound understanding of

mechanical and electrical systems

in packaging machines Hands-on knowledge of:

Labeling machines

Cartoning & shrink-wrapping machines

Liquid/powder filling lines

Blister or tube packaging (if applicable)

Basic knowledge of

PLC-controlled systems

(optional) Experience with

tools, meters, and maintenance equipment

Ability to read

technical manuals, drawings, and wiring diagrams

Preferred Industry Background:
