B.E / Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Instrumentation, ECE, or EEE

Role Summary
The Instrument Supervisor will be responsible for supervising, maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth functioning of all instrumentation systems and equipment at the plant/site. The candidate must ensure safety, accuracy, and reliability of all instruments and control systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation equipment.
Diagnose issues in sensors, transmitters, PLC/DCS systems, control valves, analyzers, and field instruments.
Conduct calibration and testing of instruments as per standards.
Ensure minimum downtime of equipment by timely fault identification and repairs.
2. Installation & Commissioning
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
Verify wiring, loop checks, and configuration of control instruments.
Coordinate with engineers and vendors for technical requirements.
3. Monitoring & Inspection
Monitor performance of field instruments and control systems.
Perform routine inspections to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
Record and maintain instrument logs, calibration reports, and documentation.
4. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all instrumentation activities are done as per safety standards and company procedures.
Follow statutory standards, SOPs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Maintain compliance with HURL's quality and safety guidelines.
5. Team Supervision
Allocate tasks to technicians and guide them in instrument maintenance activities.
Provide on-site technical support during breakdowns.
Ensure proper tool usage and adherence to work procedures.
6. Coordination
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and production departments for smooth operations.
Liaise with vendors, contractors, and procurement teams for instrument-related requirements.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature).
Familiar with PLC, DCS, SCADA systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&ID, wiring diagrams, loop drawings.
Hands-on calibration experience.
Strong problem-solving and supervision skills.
