Supervisor In-Charge - Steel Plant Operations

Job Summary

The Supervisor In-Charge will be responsible for end-to-end supervision of steel plant operations, ensuring smooth production flow, workforce management, safety compliance, and quality control. The role requires strong leadership, multitasking ability, and hands-on operational knowledge in a steel manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Supervision

Supervise daily steel plant operations including production, fabrication, rolling, melting, or finishing processes*.

Ensure production targets are met as per shift plans and schedules*.

Monitor machinery performance and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.
Manpower Management

Lead, assign, and supervise operators, technicians, helpers, and contract workers*.

Ensure proper shift allocation, attendance, discipline, and productivity*.

Train new workers on operational procedures and safety standards.
Quality Control

Ensure all processes comply with quality standards and technical specifications*.

Monitor raw material usage, production output, and wastage control.
Coordinate with QC teams for inspections and corrective actions.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Enforce HSE policies*, safety rules, and plant safety protocols.

Conduct toolbox talks and ensure proper use of PPE*.

Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations.
Coordination & Reporting

Act as a key link between management, production, maintenance, and quality departments*.

Prepare and submit daily production reports, manpower reports, and incident reports*.

Support audits, inspections, and management reviews.
Multi-Tasking & Problem Solving

Handle multiple responsibilities across production, safety, and workforce coordination.
Quickly resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production, or Industrial Engineering*

Minimum 5-8 years of experiencein a steel plant or heavy industrial environment
Prior experience as Shift Supervisor / Line Supervisor / In-Chargepreferred
Work Conditions

Rotational or fixed shifts
Factory / plant-based role
Exposure to industrial environment (heat, machinery, noise)
