Job Description


Provide leadership support for direct reports by objective setting, monitoring of productivity/quality, monthly one-on-ones and performance reviews. Requires an individual to achieve a level of proficiency in the global scheduling function. Provides technical and advisory support to multiple service lines related to scheduling of financial milestones and operational workloads. Requires an individual portion of the global scheduling workload and serves as an interface providing information to global customers. Provides a single point of contact for global customers for matters related to scheduling. . People Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for managing and supervising the team, this includes hiring, coaching, training, scheduling/delegating work, conducting performance reviews and determining pay/promotions.
  • To act as the front line manager for customers.
  • The incumbent must be available in conjunction with his/her team technical discussion, advice and guidance in response to customers.

  • Single point of contact for matters related to scheduling for operational teams supported by direct reports.
  • Responsible for study scheduling and resource management for allocated schedules across multiple global services lines.
  • Knowledge of interpreting study designs and reviews design changes as they apply and acts accordingly
  • Schedules milestones and details for studies run in the supported service lines
  • Updates and maintains proposal and schedule information in management information databases
  • Monitors capacity utilization for the supported services lines
  • Coordinates scheduling activities with relevant customers (e.g. Study Direction, Client Services, Operations, Subcontractors
  • Assists in the production, interpretations and analysis of routine business reports.
  • Provides general information about departmental workloads, processes and operations to internal clients.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of selected scheduling processes and/or process improvement opportunities. Supports harmonization across global sites.
  • Assists in scheduling of Outsourcing services with the support of operational teams
  • Works in conjunction with finance in tracking outsourced services
  • Assists in creating/maintaining training manuals and templates for scheduling functions.
  • Interface with IT services to build reports and provide input to improve the scheduling tool.

Experience: Recommended:
  • B.S./B.A. degree, A.A. in relevant subject; 6 years related experience. Other related education and experience may be substituted.
  • Leadership experience 2-3 years
  • Okay to work in 2nd shift working hours ie., 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST
  • Intermediate knowledge in use of computer systems, databases and relevant applications. Intermediate excel knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Life Science/Analytical Science or similar business and general operating procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail; consistent accuracy
  • Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with customers and operational contacts.
  • Proven leadership skills, time management and analytical business skills
  • Basic knowledge of the systems being used in core scheduling function.
