Job Description

The role of a General Tradesman in the Engineering department of the hotel industry typically encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's facilities and infrastructure. Here are some common duties and responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs

: General Tradesmen are responsible for conducting regular maintenance checks on various systems and equipment within the hotel, such as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. They also handle repairs promptly to minimize downtime and ensure guest comfort.

Emergency Response

: In the event of emergencies such as power outages, water leaks, or equipment failures, General Tradesmen are often among the first responders. They must act swiftly to mitigate risks and restore normal operations.

Safety and Compliance

: Ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards is crucial. General Tradesmen must also be aware of environmental regulations and adhere to them during their work.
