English Teacher (TGT/PGT)

Job Summary:

The English Teacher is responsible for developing students' language proficiency, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The role involves fostering a love for literature, enhancing communication abilities, and preparing students for board examinations and competitive world.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Content:

Design and deliver engaging lessons on English language and literature as per the CBSE syllabus. Teach a range of topics including grammar, prose, poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Develop students' creative writing skills through various exercises and assignments. Inculcate an appreciation for diverse literary works from different eras and cultures.

Instructional Duties:

Conduct comprehensive teaching of

prescribed textbooks

(e.g., NCERT's Honeycomb, First Flight, Flamingo, etc.) and supplementary readers. Focus on developing

all four language skills

: reading comprehension, writing proficiency, spoken communication, and active listening. Use a variety of teaching methods like group discussions, role-playing, debates, and presentations to make learning interactive. Prepare students for

CBSE board examinations

by conducting mock tests and providing targeted feedback.

Assessment & Evaluation:

Administer and evaluate

formative and summative assessments

in English, including written tests, essays, and speaking exercises. Provide detailed and constructive feedback on students' writing to help them improve grammar, syntax, and style. Maintain accurate records of students' performance and progress.

Extracurricular & School-wide Contributions:

Lead and organize literary clubs, school magazines, debate competitions, elocution contests, and other related activities. Participate in school functions and events, such as annual day plays and cultural programs, often serving as a scriptwriter, director, or coach. Collaborate with other teachers to integrate English skills across different subjects.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Master's Degree (M.A. English) with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. degree.

Experience:

Previous experience teaching senior secondary classes is highly preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Exceptional command over the English language

(both written and verbal).

Deep knowledge of English literature

and linguistic principles.

Ability to inspire and motivate

students to develop a love for reading and writing.

Strong classroom management skills

and the ability to handle diverse student needs.

Proficiency in using educational technology

and other teaching aids. Patience, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
