Job Title: Substation Estimation & Bidding Engineer

Department: Tendering / Projects / Sales

Location: Mandideep, Bhopal

Reports To: Sr. Manager / CRO

Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for 33/11 kV

distribution substations and associated electrical systems. The role focuses on detailed

review of tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications to ensure optimized and

winning proposals for EPC and turnkey distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities:

? Study and interpret tender documents, SLDs, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.

? Identify technical scope, design requirements and deviations if any.

? Prepare detailed queries and attend pre-bid meetings for clarification.

? Prepare detailed material take-offs and cost sheets for 33/11 kV substations including

Transformers, Panels, Cables and Accessories.

? Estimate erection, testing & commissioning costs, manpower and logistics.

? Float enquiries to approved vendors and evaluate quotations.

? Finalize total project cost and prepare pricing summary for management approval.

? Assist in bid clarification meetings with clients and consultants.

? Prepare Costing Sheets, Techno-Commercial Bid Documents and Compliance

Statements.

? Maintain database of vendor rates, historical project costs and market trends for future

reference.

? Upload and submit bids on various tender portals

? Follow up post-bid for clarifications, negotiations and results.

Required Skills & Competencies:

? Strong knowledge of 33/11 kV substation systems, protection & control, and HT/LT

network design.

? Ability to read and interpret SLDs, layouts, cable schedules and equipment datasheets.

? Proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, macros), AutoCAD (basic) and ERP systems.

? Familiarity with tendering portals (GeM, DISCOMs, PGCIL, etc.)

? Strong communication, analytical, and cost optimization skills.

Qualification & Experience:

Education:

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience:

1-5 years in substation estimation/tendering for 33/11 kV distribution or

industrial projects.

Preferred Industry Exposure

: Power Distribution, EPC contractors, Utilities, or System

Integrators.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

? Accuracy of cost estimation vs. actual project cost.

? Timely submission of tenders/proposals.

? Bid-to-win ratio improvement.

? Effective cost optimization and vendor management.

Preferred Add-ons (if applicable):

? Knowledge of Smart Grid / RMU / SCADA systems.

? Experience with State Electricity Board / Utility tenders (MPMKVVCL, UPPCL, CSPDCL

etc.).

? Understanding of IS/IEC standards for distribution substations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
