Job Description

The Social Studies Subject Matter Expert (SST SME) is responsible for developing high-quality academic content, curriculum frameworks, assessments, and teaching resources for Social Studies (typically from Grades 1-10). The SME ensures that content aligns with national curriculum standards (CBSE), promotes critical thinking, and makes learning engaging and relevant for students.

Content & Curriculum Development:

Design and develop curriculum maps, lesson plans, textbooks, digital content, worksheets, and assessments for Social Studies. Ensure alignment with curriculum standards such as CBSE. Incorporate interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning approaches. Integrate maps, charts, case studies, current affairs, and civic education into lessons. Regularly update content to keep it relevant and historically accurate.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Education, or related disciplines. B.Ed. preferred for education-sector roles. 3-7 years of experience in teaching, curriculum design, or academic content development. Strong understanding of Social Studies pedagogy and curriculum standards. Excellent writing, research, and communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Google Suite; familiarity with LMS or EdTech platforms is a plus. Creative mindset with attention to detail.
