In Australia, organisations are required to be registered with relevant regulators prior to delivering training and assessment to students. These organisations are referred to as Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
As a
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
, you will support SKG Consulting by developing and reviewing
training and assessment materials
for Australian RTOs. You will work closely with compliance consultants and curriculum teams to ensure all materials align with
Australian Training Packages
, industry expectations, and regulatory requirements such as the
Standards for RTOs 2025
and
National Code 2018
.
This role is
fully remote and full-time
, involving collaboration with internal teams and clients across different regions.
Role and Responsibilities:
Course Material Development:
Develop, review, and update training and assessment materials aligned with Australian Training Packages
Create learner resources, assessment tools, mapping documents, and marking guides
Ensure assessment tools address performance evidence, knowledge evidence, and assessment conditions
Compliance Alignment:
Work with compliance consultants to ensure materials meet the Standards for RTOs 2025 and ASQA expectations
Assist in identifying gaps in existing materials and contribute to continuous improvement
Industry Relevance:
Provide subject matter expertise to ensure content reflects current industry practices and standards
Maintain industry currency and incorporate updates into course materials
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate remotely with curriculum developers, compliance teams, and senior consultants
Participate in meetings and discussions to clarify requirements and timelines
Quality Assurance Support:
Support quality assurance processes by reviewing and improving training and assessment strategies
Ensure consistency, clarity, and quality across all learning and assessment resources
Attributes and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (preferred)
Experience and Background:
Strong industry experience in
Building & Construction
or
Business & Leadership Management
Experience in developing or delivering VET training and assessment materials is highly desirable
Compliance Knowledge:
Knowledge of Australian VET Training Packages and regulatory requirements is advantageous (training and support provided)
Communication Skills:
Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured learning and assessment content
Analytical Abilities:
Ability to analyse units of competency and interpret assessment requirements accurately
Team Collaboration:
Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
Time Management:
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Flexibility in Working Hours:
Ability to work flexible hours to support project timelines
Ability to Work Under Pressure:
Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
