Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the life sciences field to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to manage incoming project inquiries from clients, providing expert assessments on feasibility, timelines, pricing, and technical details based on feedback from our collection sites. As a secondary responsibility, the SME may assist with ongoing project management as time and expertise permit. This position requires a strong background in life sciences, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, client-facing environment. Some travel may be required on an occasional basis.

Key Responsibilities

Primary: Client Inquiry Management

Evaluate and respond to incoming project inquiries from clients, assessing project feasibility based on scientific and operational criteria.

Provide accurate estimates for project timelines, ensuring alignment with client needs and internal capabilities.

Develop pricing proposals, incorporating technical requirements and resource allocations.

Address technical details and queries, offering expert insights to guide client decisions and facilitate project initiation.

Secondary: Ongoing Project Support

Monitor and track key project metrics, such as collection rates, shipping logistics, and quality concerns, if workload allows.

Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution.

Maintain detailed records of project progress and client interactions to support reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a life sciences field (e.g., biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or related discipline) preferred.

At least 2 years of professional experience in a life sciences environment, such as research, laboratory work, or project coordination.

Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential for effective client communication.

Required Skills and Attributes

Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to quickly grasp the essence of complex projects and distill key information.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.

Meticulous record-keeping abilities to ensure accuracy and traceability.

Resilience in handling challenges and setbacks, with a problem-solving mindset.

Self-motivated and proactive approach to work, capable of managing tasks independently in a remote setting.

Additional Information

Travel: Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or project-related activities, but not as a routine expectation.

Work Environment: This role starts primarily remote, with flexibility for in-person meetings as needed. Transition to hybrid or on-site work in the Chandigarh area may occur at a later time.
