The SME Payroll Canada is responsible for providing expert knowledge and guidance on all payroll-related processes and compliance within the Canadian jurisdiction. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, adherence to legislative requirements, and supports continuous process improvement.
What You Will Do
Serve as the primary point of contact and expert advisor on Canadian payroll regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation, including Employment Standards, Taxation, CPP, EI, and other statutory deductions.
Review, validate, and oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Lead payroll audits and assist with resolving discrepancies or issues related to payroll data.
Collaborate closely with HR, finance, and external service providers to align payroll processes with business needs and legal requirements.
Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and documentation specific to Canadian payroll.
Provide training and support to payroll teams and relevant stakeholders on Canadian payroll matters.
Support payroll system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring alignment with Canadian payroll rules and regulations.
Monitor and communicate changes in payroll-related legislation and recommend necessary adjustments.
Assist in preparing reports and responding to audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business or Accounting or Human Resources
5+ years of experience in payroll processing, with supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum of 3yrs of experience in US or Canada payroll processing.
This position operates in a professional office environment.
Standard work hours are 4PM to 1AM IST or 6PM to 3AM IST.
Ready to Work from the Office - 5 days (Monday - Friday)

Experience with payroll systems Day Force, ADP, Ceridian, SAP, Payworks, GHR
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
