Position Summary
The
Studio Manager
will oversee the smooth operation and professional management of the studio. This role requires
strong administrative, organizational, and client-facing skills
to coordinate conservation projects, manage studio logistics, and act as the primary liaison between the conservator, clients, and vendors. The position is best suited for a highly responsible professional who thrives in a structured, detail-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Studio & Administrative Management
Oversee day-to-day studio operations, calendars, and project schedules.
Supervise and support interns, assistants, or other administrative staff as required.
Draft correspondence and handle client communications with professionalism and discretion.
Maintain high standards of organization and ensure the studio operates efficiently.
Project & Documentation Coordination
Coordinate intake and outtake of artworks, ensuring secure handling and accurate documentation.
Prepare and organize
condition reports
and treatment records as provided by the conservator.
Maintain detailed project files and ensure timely updates for clients and institutional partners.
Client & Vendor Liaison
Act as the point of contact for collectors, museums, galleries, and auction houses.
Liaise with vendors including framers, mount makers, art handlers, and logistics providers.
Prepare transport documentation, including packing lists, courier notes, and insurance-related paperwork.
Operational & Resource Management
Manage studio budgets and expenses in coordination with the Principal Conservator.
Oversee procurement and inventory of conservation supplies and equipment.
Implement and maintain compliance with safety, confidentiality, and archival best practices.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (any discipline).
3-5 years of relevant professional experience in
administration, operations management, or office coordination
. Prior exposure to arts, heritage, or cultural sectors is welcome but not mandatory.
Skills
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Hindi or other Indian languages a plus).
Strong proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace; ability to maintain structured digital records.
Financial discipline and ability to track budgets and expenses.
Attributes

High attention to detail and process orientation.
Ability to work independently while supporting a small, high-functioning team.
