Role Overview:
Gecko Programmes is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Student Support Officer
to join our team remotely. This role is ideal for someone who excels in data management and thrives in a digital environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting learners and maintaining the accuracy of our student data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage student data using
Microsoft Excel
and internal systems, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
Create and manipulate spreadsheets, using formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools to track learner progress and outcomes
Provide support to learners via email and online platforms, addressing queries and signposting them to relevant services
Assist with enrolment, attendance tracking, and progress monitoring
Generate reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate with delivery and admin teams to ensure learner support processes run smoothly
Ensure compliance with data protection policies and GDPR standards
Contribute to improving and streamlining digital support processes
Essential Skills and Experience:
Strong administrative experience, ideally in an education or training setting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
(e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, data validation)
Excellent IT skills and ability to adapt to new systems quickly
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Desirable:
Familiarity with CRM or student management systems
Understanding of data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR)
Experience in remote learner support
