The Student Counsellor is responsible for supporting students' academic progress and emotional well-being. The role focuses on mentoring NEET/JEE and Board exam aspirants through data-driven academic guidance, personalized counselling, and maintaining a structured residential learning environment that encourages discipline and consistent performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Performance Monitoring & Planning
Monitor and analyze student performance across DPPs, chapter tests, and mock examinations to identify academic trends.
Identify gaps between Board (descriptive) exam performance and NEET/JEE (objective) results.
Design and implement weekly academic improvement plans for underperforming students and track measurable progress.
2. Student Counselling & Residential Supervision
Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to address academic difficulties, stress, motivation, and emotional concerns; maintain detailed counselling records.
Supervise hostel discipline and study-hour compliance to ensure a focused and productive learning atmosphere.
Lead motivational sessions, assist in goal setting, and coordinate structured doubt-clearing sessions.
3. Parent Communication & Administrative Support
Provide bi-weekly updates to parents regarding student academic progress, attendance, behavior, and overall development.
Support administrative tasks such as fee tracking, academic portal entries, and weekly test coordination.
Work closely with Academic Coordinators to ensure syllabus schedules and academic plans are executed effectively.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Class 11 & 12 syllabus, Board examinations, and NEET/JEE exam patterns.
Ability to interpret academic performance data and convert insights into actionable learning strategies.
Excellent communication, counselling, and interpersonal skills with a student-centric approach.
Proven ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a structured, high-pressure academic environment.
