Student Legal Advisor - Visa Consulting Specialists

Job Summary:

The Student Legal Advisor - Visa Consulting Specialist provides expert legal guidance and personalized consulting services to students seeking to study abroad. This role focuses on helping students understand and navigate visa requirements, immigration laws, and compliance obligations related to student visas. The advisor ensures each student receives accurate, timely, and ethical support throughout their visa application process.

Key Responsibilities:

Visa Consulting & Legal Guidance:

Advise students on visa options, eligibility requirements, and documentation for countries such as the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and EU nations. Interpret and explain immigration regulations, student visa categories, and institutional compliance rules. Review student visa applications for accuracy and completeness before submission. Assist students in preparing supporting documents such as Statement of Purpose (SOP), financial proofs, and academic records.

Case Management:

Maintain accurate records of each student's visa application and communication. Track application status and update students on progress or additional requirements. Liaise with embassies, consulates, and immigration authorities when necessary.

Compliance & Policy:

Stay updated on changes to visa and immigration laws in key study destinations. Ensure all consulting activities comply with relevant legal and institutional guidelines. Provide internal updates and training to team members about regulatory changes.

Student Support & Communication:

Conduct one-on-one consultations and group workshops on visa processes and international student requirements. Offer guidance on post-visa compliance (e.g., travel regulations, work-study permissions, and renewals). Deliver clear and empathetic communication to students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Law, International Relations, Immigration Studies, or related field (Master's preferred). Prior experience in visa consulting, immigration law, or international education. Strong understanding of international student visa processes and documentation requirements. Excellent communication and counseling skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case management skills. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM or visa-tracking software.

Preferred Attributes:

Certification in immigration consulting or legal advising (if applicable to region). Experience working in an educational consultancy, university international office, or immigration law firm. Multilingual abilities are an advantage.
