An Admission Counsellor guides prospective students through applications, promoting programs, organizing tours, and managing enrollment, while a Student Counsellor focuses more on current students' academic, career, and personal development, offering mental health support, conflict resolution, and career path planning, often overlapping in career guidance but differing in primary focus (recruitment vs. holistic support). Both roles need strong communication, organizational skills, and empathy to help students find the best educational fit and succeed. Admission Counsellor
Role Focus:
Recruitment, enrollment, and guiding prospects through the admissions process.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary contact for prospective students/families, providing program info.
Assist with application forms, document submission, and processing.
Conduct campus tours, info sessions, and represent the institution at fairs.
Evaluate applications and coordinate with the admissions committee.
Maintain accurate student records and use CRM software.
Follow up with applicants to ensure completion.
Develop recruitment strategies and meet enrollment targets.
Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a target-driven, customer-centric environment.
Experience with admissions/counseling preferred; knowledge of MS Office/CRM.
Student Counsellor
Role Focus:
Holistic support, academic/personal development, and well-being of current students.
