The Student Counselor is responsible for promoting the mental well-being and academic success of students by offering expert psychological guidance and counseling. With a doctoral-level background in psychology and hands-on experience in student affairs, the counselor will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced psychological counseling and mental health support to students experiencing personal, emotional, behavioral, or academic difficulties.
Conduct psychological assessments, formulate treatment plans, and track progress.
Design and deliver wellness programs, group therapy sessions, and mental health awareness workshops.
Serve as a point of contact for crisis intervention and manage emergency situations with professionalism and care.
Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to develop support strategies for students at risk.
Refer students to external mental health professionals or agencies as needed.
Maintain up-to-date records and ensure confidentiality of counseling sessions.
Contribute to policy development related to student mental health and wellness.
Provide expert input on student behavior, campus climate, and psychosocial trends to support institutional planning.
