Job Title: Student Counsellor - Preschool



Job Summary:



We are seeking a compassionate and experienced

Student Counsellor

with a strong background in early childhood education and behavioural management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and developmental well-being of preschool-aged children. This role also involves acting as the primary point of contact for all parent communications related to child behaviour and development.

Key Responsibilities:



Serve as the main liaison between the school and parents concerning student development, behaviour, and emotional well-being. Conduct developmental screenings and behavioural assessments to identify early signs of learning delays, speech/language issues, emotional challenges, or other developmental concerns. Provide individual and group counselling sessions to children facing challenges such as aggression, separation anxiety, attention difficulties, or adjustment issues. Observe students in classroom settings and collaborate with teachers to monitor behavioural patterns and suggest suitable intervention strategies. Develop and implement tailored intervention plans and behaviour management techniques for students requiring additional support. Address and counsel students demonstrating disruptive behaviours such as tantrums, withdrawal, hurting others, or difficulty in social interaction. Maintain confidential documentation of assessments, parent interactions, counselling sessions, and interventions. Provide ongoing support and training to teachers for classroom behaviour management and inclusive practices. Organize and conduct parenting workshops, guidance sessions, and regular feedback meetings with parents to support holistic child development. Facilitate smooth transitions for children entering preschool and progressing through different classroom levels, fostering emotional resilience and security.

Qualifications and Skills:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field. Minimum of

2 years of experience

in a preschool or early childhood educational setting. In-depth knowledge of child development milestones, child psychology, and early learning challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in engaging and counselling parents. Empathetic, patient, and discreet in handling sensitive situations involving children and families. Additional certification in counselling, early intervention, or special education is a plus.
