Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education administration and experience working with students in various capacities. This role involves providing individual and group counseling, academic advising, and mentoring to support students in their educational journey. The Counselor will also engage in public speaking and recruiting efforts to promote our programs and services.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address student concerns and promote personal development. Provide academic advising to help students navigate their educational paths effectively. Mentor students by offering guidance on academic, career, and personal issues. Utilize Ellucian and PeopleSoft systems for managing student records and tracking progress. Engage in public speaking events to educate students about available resources and programs. Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a supportive learning environment. Analyze student data to identify trends and areas for improvement in counseling services. Participate in recruiting activities to attract prospective students to the institution. Teach workshops or seminars on relevant topics related to student success.

Experience

Proven experience in individual/group counseling, mentoring, or academic advising within an educational setting. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people. Familiarity with education administration processes and systems such as Ellucian and PeopleSoft is preferred. Experience working with students from various backgrounds, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique challenges. Public speaking experience is a plus, along with strong analytical skills for assessing student needs. A background in teaching or training is beneficial for facilitating workshops or seminars.
