Job Description

Role Overview



The Structure Engineer for a Water Treatment Plant is responsible for supervising, executing, and ensuring the quality of all structural components of the WTP as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and industry standards. The role requires hands-on site execution, coordination with design teams, contractors, and ensuring safety and compliance throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities



1. Structural Execution & Supervision



Execute and monitor all structural works such as foundations, tanks, retaining walls, chemical rooms, clarifiers, and other WTP components. Verify formwork, reinforcement, shuttering, and concrete work as per approved drawings. Ensure proper alignment, level, and dimensions of structural elements. Monitor concrete pouring activities and ensure curing and finishing are done properly.

2. Drawings & Technical Compliance



Study and interpret structural drawings, GFC drawings, and technical specifications. Ensure construction is carried out exactly as per latest revisions of drawings. Report discrepancies or clashes between structural, mechanical, or architectural drawings.

3. Quality Assurance & Control



Conduct quality checks on materials like steel, cement, aggregates, and concrete. Check reinforcement placement, bar bending schedules, and shuttering quality. Ensure compliance with IS codes and project QAP requirements. Maintain quality records and site test reports.

4. Coordination & Communication



Coordinate with the Mechanical/Electrical teams for embedded items, openings, pipe supports, ducts, etc. Liaise with consultants, clients, and third-party inspection teams. Coordinate with contractors for manpower, resources, and timely execution.

5. Documentation & Reporting



Prepare daily progress reports for structural activities. Maintain documentation of inspections, concrete pour cards, RFI logs, material approvals, etc. Assist billing team with BOQs, quantities, and measurements related to structural work.

6. Safety & Compliance



Ensure workers follow safety protocols and wear PPE. Identify potential hazards and take preventive measures. Ensure safe execution of activities like shuttering, scaffolding, and working at heights.

Skills & Qualifications



Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in structural execution (WTP/STP preferred). Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, foundations, tanks, and hydraulic structures. Ability to read and interpret structural and mechanical drawings. Familiar with IS codes and quality standards. Good communication, leadership, and site management skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
